Shadowlands General Perks Guide

This guide only deals with Shadowlands expansion General Perks in Anarchy Online. This does not cover Profession Perks, Group Perks or Alien Invasion Perks.

The default key binding for opening your Perks window is by holding the shift key and pressing the 'p' key [shift+p]

Your first perk become available once your character achieves level 10, and you are granted an additional perk every 10 levels thereafter (20, 30, etc), for a maximum total of 20 perk points available at level 200, and then at each shadow level beyond 200 (with a maximum of 20 shadow levels), you will also be entitled to an additional perk. 

The maximum total of perk points possible at level 220 (200 regular levels, 20 shadow levels) is therefore 40.

The information on this guide was obtained through various means including in-game, forums, experienced players and other reference sites. As new information becomes available to us regarding this subject matter, it will also be added here.

Notes

Using the perk action will only lock the associated tier, so in effect you get the use of 2 warps per 4-hour period, with the exception of ICC warp in tier 5, which is only once every 3 hours.

Enhance DNA Provides bonus to all basic abilities.
Provides bonus to body dev.
Provides heal (HoT) special.
Provides anti-DoT special.

Good for twinking. Also affects health and heal delta marginally due to the body dev. modifiers (Atrox, Opifex and Solitus will gain +120 health, Nanomage will gain +80 health).

Specials

Reconstruct DNA (Tier 5)
Enables a 1 minute HoT nano-program that heals yourself. It's effects increase with every additional tiers of Enhance DNA you have trained and has a 6 minute cooldown.

Enhanced DNA (Tier 5)
10 cycles, 25 health per cycle, 6s cycle
250 health over 1 minute

Enhanced DNA (Tier 10)
10 cycles, 190 health per cycle, 6s cycle
1900 health over 1 minute

Viral Wipe (Tier 10)
Instantly removes any hostile DoT nano-programs you have running, including those by executed by Nano-technician, Doctor and Agent professions. Reportedly, it can currently be used to remove DoTs from other players as-well, even though the description says it can't. This has a 2 minute cooldown.

Often overlooked perk due to the fact there is an additional perk line called 'Training Seminar' which provides greater %XP bonuses. With access to the full four tiers by level 140, and when considering the warp specials, this is definitely something to consider for those spare perk points.

The main use of this perk line is for twinking, as it is an immediate source of much needed treatment, but also provides a handy heal special for soloing on non-heal professions.

Heal (Tier 2)
This is a handy heal that does not lock your regular treatment/first aid skill like the health stims and rechargers do, nor pharmaceutical skill like the veteran heal items do, nor perception like the sanguisugent armor does. The amount it heals appears to be dependent on your first-aid skill at a rate of approximately 80% (ie- 1000 first aid will allow this perk special to heal 800 health).

If micro-managed accordingly, it provides a nice additional source of health to add to your regular healing cycles. It has a 4 minute cooldown.

Freak Strength Provides bonus to strength and stamina abilities.

The main use of this perk line is for twinking, particularly effective on low strength/stamina breeds. It also provides additional perk attacks useful in PvP such as stuns and extra perk damage.

Specials

Grasp (Tier 1)
This perk special requires one to be standing behind the target to execute.

If it succeeds, it will stun both yourself and the target for 5 seconds, allowing anyone else attacking said target to continue attacking without fear of retaliation, effectively "holding" the target in place. The cooldown is 90 seconds if it succeeded, or 45 seconds if it missed. 

Bearhug (Tier2)
This perk special requires the Grasp perk special to be already running and holding the target (and yourself) in place with the stun. It will perform a direct damage DoT on the target, whilst also stunning for 6 seconds. The cooldown is 90 seconds if it succeeded, or 45 seconds if it missed. 
 
6 cycles, 90 damage per cycle, 1s cycle
540 health over 6 seconds

Grip of Colossus (Tier3)
This perk special requires the Bearhug perk special to be already running and holding the target (and yourself) in place with the stun. It will perform a direct damage DoT on the target, whilst also stunning for 8 seconds. The cooldown is 90 seconds if it succeeded, or 45 seconds if it missed. 

8 cycles, 215 damage per cycle, 1s cycle
1720 health over 8 seconds

Notes

If all 3 attack specials are chained in the correct order and succeed at the last possible moment, the cumulative effect would be:

  • Stun yourself and target for close to 19 seconds.
  • Total of 2260 damage to target.

This is one of the most versatile and useful perks available. Not only is it used for twinking (particularly effective on low intelligence and psychic breeds), but also provides a nano pool heal perk special which is very effective in restoring nano pool in a hurry, useful in many situations including, PvM, soloing and PvP.
